The moody and unpredictable Salman has always hit the headlines for his controversies and blockbusters. He may have been featured as the bad boy of the industry several times over. But many-a-common-man claims that this macho hunk has a heart made of pure gold.


Salman started his filmi career in 1988, he played supporting role in the film 'Biwi Ho To Aisi'. In 1989 came his solo movie 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' an extremely successful hit, garnering Salman his first Filmfare Best Debut Award. This sucess was followed by a couple of another sucessful releases; 'Baaghi', 'Pathar Ke Phool' and 'Saajan'.

Salman made his comeback as a superstar in 1994 with movies,'Andaz Apna Apna' with Aamir Khan and 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun' opposite Madhuri Dixit, which was one of the biggest blockbusters of Bollywood. Later in 1995, Salman again did a superhit movie 'Karan Arjun' with Shah Rukh Khan. 'Khamoshi'-The Musical (1996) was one of his best films and salman's performance was critically claimed.

In 1999, Salman won a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his extended appearance in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (1998), and since then has starred in several critical and commercial successes, including 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' (1999), 'Tere Naam' (2003), 'No Entry' (2005) and 'Partner' (2007). Salman has thus proved himself as one of the most prominent leading actors of Hindi cinema.
